Family Programs in May
Join us for this dynamic program for children 5 & under. We’ll start our session with an interactive Storytime from 10:00-10:30 am. Infants & toddlers are welcome to join us for a lap sit session of songs and stories that even preschoolers will enjoy.
Then we’ll merge into Let’s Play! from 10:30 - 11:30am. This playgroup is intended for the more active child and children under 3. We’ll have a healthy blend of open play and educational games. The loose structure will allow the group to fluidly spend time socializing together while learning through play. We’ll meet at (5/3) at the Tusten-Cochecton Branch; on (5/10) at the Jeffersonville Branch; AND on (5/17) at the Delaware Free Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library. Come for any or all of the time that works for you! Registration is not required. For more information visit www.WSPLonline.org.
For children ages 6-11 we’ve got a few fun things for you to celebrate Spring.
We were finally able to reschedule Part 2 of our Beginners Knitting class! Join us as the owner of our local knitting boutique, Wool Worth, teaches us tips and tricks for creating your own project. We’ll be at our Delaware Free Branch on Thursday, May 4th from 4:30 - 5:30 PM. Each child will receive all the supplies needed to get started on their journey. This class is for children over 7. Space is limited so reserve your spot today at www.WSPLonline.org.
Next we’ll be in Callicoon for Garden Day on Saturday, May 27th. Join us for a fun day full of gardening. We'll start with an interactive storytime for children under 7, then we'll get the older kids involved in creating a community container at the library! Feel free to come for any or all of the activities and stick around for all the fun planting that's happening around town. We’ll host Garden Together Storytime (7 & under) @ 12:00 pm & the Community Container Project (7 & older) at 1:30pm in the Delaware Free Branch of Western Sullivan Public Library. Please register so we have all the supplies available to you at www.WSPLonline.org.
Join us at the Tusten-Cochecton Branch on May 31st from 4:30 - 5:30 PM for an interactive planting session. In this month’s Family Garden Class class, we’ll meet in the garden for an orientation and spring clean up. Come out with any questions you have about being part of a community garden. We’ll talk about the plants we’re growing this year and how we designed the layout.
Be prepared to get your hands dirty as we weed through the plot and surrounding area to get our garden bed ready for the growing season ahead! Please dress for the weather and bring plenty of water.
Beginners and more experienced junior gardeners are welcome. Join us for this class or become a part of the gardening team! This class works best with children 8+ with an adult. Please register at www.WSPLonline.org.
