Library Card Sign-Up Month

A library card from the Western Sullivan Public Library allows you to check out books, but it doesn't stop there: browse the thousands of DVDs and audiobooks at our branches; visit our website and borrow an ebook or stream a movie; learn a new language using the library’s Rosetta Stone database or see how a 3D printer works; bring the kids to storytime; meet with friends at our book clubs...the possibilities are endless.   Your library card not only gives you access to everything at the Western Sullivan Public Libraries, but also the 48 member libraries in the Ramapo Catskill Library System in Orange, Sullivan, Rockland and southern Ulster Counties.

If you do not have a library card, now is the time to sign up.  Visit any of our branches during the month of September and receive a treat when you register.

The American Library Association (ALA) is holding a #GetLibraryCarded promotion from September 1st through September 22nd.  “Having a library card provides access to great things all year-round, but during Library Card Sign-Up Month it will also give library users the chance to win $100,” according to the ALA.  Snap a selfie with your library card and post it to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #GetLibraryCarded to be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card.  Entries can also be posted as a comment or wall post on the I Love Libraries Facebook page.  Please cover up any personally identifiable information.  Visit iLoveLibraries.org for official rules.

The staff at Western Sullivan Public Library look forward to seeing you at the library.  For information on programs, services and materials at the library reach out to Library Director Audra Everett at (845) 482-4350.
